About Us
WKON was created in 2023, starting out as just a TFT EAS 911, then to a Trilithic EASyPLUS, then now at the Monroe One-Net, which has CAP capabilities and a character generator used for the WKON TV station.
Relay Criteria
WKON relays all alerts recieved through its monitor (ERN/JON, with CRTV as a backup), unless it is a duplicate. WKON also relays nationwide IPAWSCAP messages.
Equipment at WKON
WKON FM uses a Monroe One-Net R189 into Voicemeeter for an audio switch, and then to BUTT for streaming.
WKON TV uses the same Monroe One-Net R189, but into an AV capture card, into OBS for streaming. WKON TV also uses the WS4000 Simulator for programming.
